CAP (Children’s Assistance Program)

Bronwyn Schielke, Coordinator

The Children’s Assistance Program (CAP) is a program designed to help children that attend Iglesia Tierra Prometida. In Costa Rica, the program is referred to as Programa Ayuda Para Niños (PAN). The needs are great. Funds are needed to minister to the children’s physical needs as they are taught spiritually.

PROGRAM GOALS:

• Promote children’s health by providing immunizations
• Train parents on adequate nutrition (according to their means)
• Provide meals to needy families with small children
• Provide school supplies, including school uniforms
• Teach First Aid and CPR
• Show Christ’s love

IMMEDIATE GOALS:

• Provide immunizations to 30+ children in the church who have not been able to afford to be immunized
• Provide school uniforms to those in need so they may be able to attend (uniforms are required)
• Provide food packages to several unemployed families
• Provide over-the-counter medicines when needed (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, cough syrup, etc.)

Mujer Auténtica Conferences

Indy Vormbrock embraces a young lady at a Mujer Auténtica ConferenceHaving been the child of missionary parents, Indy’s Costa Rican roots have given her a passion for ministering in Latin America. In addition to building the evangelical church in Grecia, Costa Rica, she provides a conference entitled Mujer Auténtica. God has used her to help women resolve and liberate themselves from the burdens of guilt, shame, bitterness and unforgiveness.

As a result, marriages have been enriched and relationships with family and friends have taken on new meaning. God has been glorified. This conference has taken us to South America, Central America, Mexico and communities in the United States. The conference material has also been formatted into a Bible Study, available in Spanish and English.

Nicaragua

Olimpida de CalderaRosemarie BellWe are pleased to welcome in partnership "Jardin Infantil y Comedor Belén" (Children School and Lunch Program Belen) in Managua, Nicaragua. The ministry is the vision and hard work of Rosemarie Bell and Olimpida de Caldera.

In addition to the pre-school "Jardin Infantil" they also have an accredited school "Colegio Cristiano El Padul", with classes through the 12th grade, and a Vocational School “Rev. Misael López Herrera" where they teach Vocational Training, English, Woodworking, Computers and Sewing. These schools have over 300 students with ages ranging from 3 to 17 years. Besides education, the staff strives to plant in the heart of every child the desire to attend church. Their present congregation, led by Pastor Felix Pedro Perez, is composed predominantly of children and meets at the school.

The ministry provides uniforms, clothes, transportation, medicine, vaccines, and a balanced daily diet. With generous donations, scholarships are made available and many children learn the way of the Master while improving their scholastic skills.
