Dana Newell
Vice President
Dana is a native Texan, born and raised in
Houston. Graduating from
Sam
Houston State
University
in the early 70s, she then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary before launching a 24-year career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. In 1999 she retired as an Associate Warden from a federal facility in
Texas
and now lives in
Cypress, Texas.
Dana' heart for missions
began while in college and her heart's desire to serve in a Latin American ministry began to unfold in January 2004 when she was asked to serve as the Vice President
of U.S.AMEN. Ministry has been her focus since retirement.
She is a gifted writer
and photographer and has become the eyes and the voice of the ministry. Her
ability to capture and communicate the despair and yet, beauty of the places and
people we visit brings smiles and laughter, and occasional tears to our supporters.
She has been a real gift to the ministry.
